Studded tires are noisier than non-studded winter tires, which could get annoying if you are driving long distances on highways that have been cleared of snow. Some parking lots as well as some condominiums prohibit vehicles fitted with studded tires. These tires are allowed on vehicles registered in Northern Ontario but are not allowed in Southern Ontario, unless you’re visiting from out-of-province or a resident of Northern Ontario.
