And, like the original, this tire offers road hazard protection and an excellent mileage warranty. » The tire features thin tread sipes that are 33% narrower than standard gauge sipes and the micro sipes provide the same flexibility. These sipes provide better contact with the road for better traction, Hercules said. Additionally, the zig-zag slats create more biting edges and reduce lateral movement to decrease sway and improve the hand. The tire's updated four-pitch sequence helps create more lateral grooves to improve traction without increasing noise and the improved profile shape optimizes surface contact for better traction and tread life turnover, adds Hercules.
